Class D - Departure to the Training Area or Cross Country

Before Taxiing Pilot 125.1
121.9
Listen to the ATIS 125.1, then make the start up and taxi call:
Camden Ground, (callsign), (type) at Curtis grass/apron, received (ATIS code), request taxi for departure (training area or first landing point)
SMC (callsign), Camden Ground, taxi for holding point, runway 06 (time check).
Pilot
(readback)
Taxi for holding point runway 06, (callsign).
This clearance allows the aircraft to taxi from Curtis to the run-up bays and on to the holding point for departure. No subsequent instruction is required from SMS (such as a clearance to leave the run-up bay).
Take Off Ready call (at holding point) Pilot 120.1 Camden Tower, (callsign), (type), for crosswind/downwind/upwind departure, holding point runway 06, ready.
Tower (callsign), Camden Tower, hold position. (callsign), Camden Tower, line up. (callsign), Camden Tower, cleared for take off.
Pilot
(readback)
Holding, (callsign). Line up, (callsign). Cleared for take off, (callsign).
Altitude restrictions apply to the departure (1300 feet QNH). Should you require climb above 1300 ft, do not use non-standard "cancel climb restriction" - request to "depart the control zone on climb" or this will be directed by ATC.
Pilot (callsign), request climb 2500 feet.
Tower (callsign), climb 2500 feet.
Pilot
(readback)
Climb 2500 feet, (callsign).
Pilots are no longer required to contact Tower when transiting within 3 miles of the Control Zone boundary. They are encouraged to listen out on the Tower frequency, but it is not mandatory. This means there may be traffic in close proximity to the Control Zone not talking to the Tower, and as such pilots arriving and departing Class D airspace need to bear this in mind when emplyoying see and avoid techniques. Uf the Tower is aware of traffic outside the zone, then a traffic service can be provided.
